Do you use commercial CFD code and want to reduce your licence costs? Do you not yet use CFD software but want to introduce this technology without it costing you a fortune?

Are you a researcher or doctoral student and need CFD code that is both accessible and modulable?

Then our OpenFOAM training options are made for you!

As expert users of the OpenFOAM suite since 2008, we have been offering training in the use of this open-source software since 2011.

With ICPF certification since 2021, we help you launch yourself into the very steep OpenFOAM learning curve with complete peace of mind.

We will adapt both the duration and content of our training in the light of your needs, your current CFD competencies and your knowledge of OpenFOAM.

To help you get to grips with the use of the software more easily, all our training activities are performed on-site. We train you on your own machines, running your own operating system and using your own version of OpenFOAM. In this way, it will be very easy for you to find the cases created during the applied exercises again once the training is complete. Furthermore, this on-site presence helps us better understand your needs and allows us to provide you with the knowledge you require. Finally, by conducting the sessions on your premises, we are able to offer training for multiple employees (up to 4) at no additional cost.

Following initial telephone discussions, we will send you a questionnaire that will allow us to assess the time needed in order to meet your objectives.

Our training offering is subdivided into three modules which can be adapted in terms of both time and content (to be defined between us in the light of the prior assessment and the available budget):

Basic training

training providing an understanding of the software’s architecture and mode of functioning and enabling users to design calculations that use the basic functionalities of the software.

SnappyHexMesh training

training in the use of the OpenFOAM mesh generator. If you intend to use SnappyHexMesh, we recommend that you opt for both of these training courses (Basic and SnappyHexMesh) in parallel in order to address meshing and datafication-related issues right from the outset and to increase the level of complexity as the training progresses.

Advanced training

the aim of this training is to focus on your needs. We recommend you undertake this training after a few weeks of using the software on your own (3 to 5 weeks after the Basic training). After examining the problems that you have encountered while using the software on your own, we will transpose (datafy) one of your concrete use cases into data format. This training also provides the opportunity to initiate you into the discipline of reading and modifying source code (if necessary).

Since 2011, our training has been attended by very many people: doctoral students, researchers, engineers working for major industrial groups or for small to mid-sized businesses. 88% of them say that they are satisfied or very satisfied with our training and would be prepared to recommend it to their colleagues.

Our areas of expertise

Automotive

Coming from the world of motor sports and based in the technology centre of the Magny Cours circuit, the Aero Concept Engineering team is deeply immersed in the automotive world. From motor sports to series production, along with the world of non-standard vehicles, ACE has contributed its expertise to numerous automotive projects.

Aeronautics

Our engineers have been involved in aeronautic projects for many years. They have studied certified aircraft, ultralight aircraft (ULMs), drones and even airships using CFD techniques or in the wind tunnel.

HGVs

Since HGVs, construction machinery and agricultural machinery are subject to aerodynamic and thermal problems very similar to those affecting passenger cars, our teams are regularly called upon to work in these fields.

Rail

Pantographs, landing doors, carriage doors, train tunnel entries, crossings, air conditioning… These are just a few examples of the railway-related topics that we have been asked to address.

Construction

Are you responsible for the construction of a new district or a new building? Do you want to make sure that the aeraulic and thermal issues are dealt with prior to the construction work? Then please contact us!

Defence

Whether earthbound or airborne, armoured or not, take advantage of our experience to optimise the thermal and aerodynamic aspects of your military vehicles.

Sports and Records

Make your entry into the world of ultimate performance thanks to our sports-dedicated entity aeroptimum.fr. Our aerodynamic engineers will help you get the very best out of your machine and open the way to records, medals and victories!

Research

Research has been one of our sectors of activity for many years. With our wind-tunnel tests, the design of mock-ups and our expertise in CFD, we have cooperated in the preparation of many theses and dissertations.

Industry

Do your industrial processes or products involve thermal considerations, aeraulics or fluid mechanics? Would you benefit from support in their development and optimisation ? Then please contact us !
